A 37-year-old man, who was jailed in the US for defrauding the Government of Bermuda of millions of dollars, was arrested promptly as he arrived on the Island Tuesday night for breaching a four-year-old warrant.

Harrison Isaac Jr., 37, of Hamilton Parish, who the paper understands had recently completed his jail time in the US, was in Police custody again yesterday morning when he pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' court for an unlicensed motorbike in November 2004.

Isaac had masterminded a $2 million fraud against the Government of Bermuda, abusing his role as a Management Accountant in the Accountant General's Department to commit the crime.

He illegally siphoned the cash from an Internet account the Accountant General's Department held with the Bank of New York and wired the cash to his girlfriend Teketa Thompkins and others during 2003 and 2004.

He pleaded guilty in a court case held in New York in early 2006, having been in custody since he was arrested at Bermuda Airport attempting to flee the country in April 2004. He was jailed for just over four-and-a-half years.

Thompkins was convicted of assisting him in the crime after a trial in New York in 2006 and sentenced to four years.

Yesterday in Magistrates' Court, Isaac was granted $300 bail after pleading not guilty to having an unlicensed motorbike in November 2004. He will appear for trial on September 25.
