KFC raises $5,000 for Sunshine League

A fast-food restaurant is putting a smile on the faces of foster children.KFC has teamed up with the Sunshine League to help care for 13 youngsters at the charity's Children's Home.The restaurant last month gave customers the opportunity to purchase Kids Meal Certificates, raising $5,000 worth of meals in the process. The Sunshine League youngsters will be able to use the meal vouchers throughout 2010.

KFC has teamed up with the Sunshine League to help care for 13 youngsters at the charity's Children's Home.

The restaurant last month gave customers the opportunity to purchase Kids Meal Certificates, raising $5,000 worth of meals in the process. The Sunshine League youngsters will be able to use the meal vouchers throughout 2010.

Sunshine League executive director Denise Carey said: "On behalf of the Children of the Sunshine League, we share a group hug with KFC for its continued support and encouragement of our foster children. It truly does take a village (to raise a child)."
