THIEVES TARGET WEST END RESTAURANT CRM EAT Thieves target West End restaurant Pirates Landing, a restaurant at Dockyard, was broken into over the weekend, Police report.

The incident was discovered after a safe was found at the Pembroke Dump early on Friday morning.

Documents inside the safe indicated that it was the property of Pirates Landing. Officers attended the restaurant and found signs of forced entry and were able to confirm that the safe had been taken.

WOMAN INJURED IN ACCIDENT AC Woman injured in accident A single vehicle accident occurred in Southampton at approximately 4 a.m. on Monday on Middle Road, just outside the Southampton Arms.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Southampton woman, apparently fell asleep at the wheel and collided with a wall on the east-bound carriage way.

The vehicle, a white Nissan March, was extensively damaged. The driver recieved a fractured pelvis, a disjointed hip and suffered internal bleeding.

SEAWEED'S A FACT OF LIFE ENV Seaweed's a fact of life Bermuda's winter beach users have been told that they will have to cope with the massive amounts of seaweed currently being washed ashore.

"When sea-borne seaweed floats in to Bermuda, it does so over a period of time and sometimes in large quantities as now,'' said a Government spokesman.

"It is not practical to try to keep the beaches completely clear at such times.'' The spokesman was responding to a recent complaint about the poor conditions of Horseshoe Bay and other beaches during the winter from a woman who refused to give her name.
