A 32-year-old Pembroke man was last night in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a fight across the street from Bermuda Bistro at The Beach.

In a statement, a Police spokesman said officers received a report of a disturbance outside the bar, on Front Street, around 1.30 a.m. yesterday.

Police said it appeared that the victim was assaulted by a group of men, receiving serious injuries.

He was taken to the King Edward Memorial VII Hospital for treatment and was last night said to be in a stable condition in ICU.

A manager at the restaurant and bar said: "It was outside and we didn't see anything that happened. It happened across the street and the Police are looking into it." Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Police station on 295-0011.
