in a fight with another man on Hermitage Road on Monday night.

The man was riding his cycle and as he approached the junction of Hermitage and Middle Roads he saw a man.

He stopped because he believed he knew the man and they spoke briefly. The culprit asked the victim if he had any drugs and a fight broke out after the victim said he did not have any.

Suddenly two other men appeared and joined the melee but the victim managed to fight them off.

However the original assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. He then escaped by jumping on the back of a bike believed to be driven by a woman.

The victim required several stitches and is now on a general ward at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A description of the alleged attacker has been given to the Police and investigations are continuing.
