Men charged with drink- driving offences
Two men appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged separately with causing grievous bodily harm while drink-driving.
Shawn Gibson, of Rockaway Drive, Southampton, was accused of causing serious injury to Daniel Wilkes on April 13, on South Road.
Gibson was also accused of driving a motorcycle while his ability to drive was impaired by alcohol or drugs, and refusing to give a breathalyser test.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the 34-year-old on $6,000 plus one like surety.
In court on a separate charge, Shawn Albert Eugene Smith was also accused of driving a vehicle on October 19 while his ability to drive was impaired by alcohol or drugs.
The 32-year-old was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Mark Cannon.
Mr. Warner granted Smith, of Long Ridge, Devonshire, bail in the amount of $5,000.
Neither man was required to enter a plea as both cases must be heard in Supreme Court.
