Middle school pupil sets off bomb at Dellwood

An M3 student detonated a homemade explosive device at Dellwood middle school yesterday.A press released issued by the Bermuda Police Department said: "Around 2:45 p.m. today, Police responded to a report of a suspicious explosive device at the Dellwood Middle School."It is believed that the device was a primitive, home made item made up of household chemicals.

An M3 student detonated a homemade explosive device at Dellwood middle school yesterday.

A press released issued by the Bermuda Police Department said: "Around 2:45 p.m. today, Police responded to a report of a suspicious explosive device at the Dellwood Middle School.

"It is believed that the device was a primitive, home made item made up of household chemicals.

"No one was injured and the student suspected of making the device is being dealt with by school officials and Police."

According to a Government spokesperson: "An M3 student detonated the device when he was isolated, just outside of the student hall."

He said when the student set off the device there was an audible disturbance, which disrupted the school. However, according to Police, the school was not evacuated.

The Government spokesperson said they were awaiting the report from the school and after which the student will be dealt with accordingly.
