Minibus on the road
The news was warmly welcomed by St. George's Mayor the Wor. Henry Hayward and Corporation of St. George's officials.
Said Mr. Hayward: "The minibus service has been sorely missed by St. George's residents and visitors alike.'' Owner of St. George's Transportation, Mrs. Evadne Caesar, announced yesterday the resumption of the service.
She said three newly renovated buses would operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The buses would service St. George's, Ferry Reach, St. David's and the US Naval Air Station.
The service was halted last year following the death of St. George's resident and minibus driver Mr. Leon Eugene (Butch) Fubler.
Divers found the body of 46-year-old Mr. Fubler in 30 feet of water off Gates' Fort, St. George's.
