Most fish in Bermuda's waters contain key nutrients including the recommended daily dose of Omega three fatty acids, Environment Minister Glenn Blakeney told the House of Assembly.
The Minister spoke about a nutritional study on the Island's fish in a Ministerial Statement on Friday.
He said certain species of large predator fish consumed in Bermuda pose a risk to pregnant mothers due to mercury.
But there are also benefits from Omega three fatty acids and selenium, an antioxidant which has a mediating effect on prostate cancer.
Mr. Blakeney said anyone who wants to "digest the particulars of this work" can download the full paper on Government's website.
