Motorcyclist injured after losing control
A 26-year-old motorcycle rider suffered an injury to his right leg after losing control of his cycle while negotiating a left hand bend.
It happened on Knapton Hill in Smith's parish on Tuesday near the junction with Spanish Crescent after 4.30 p.m. As a result the rider slid into the east bound lane.
At the time a bus was travelling east on Knapton Hill, causing the driver to manoeuvre the bus to avoid colliding, however the rider still hit the front of the bus.
The man sustained cuts and scrapes to his body and a possible broken leg and the bus driver was uninjured as well as passengers on the bus.
Also on Tuesday, a motocross rider impacted two cars and injured his foot. The 18-year-old rider of the stolen cycle was subsequently taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Just prior to 4.30 p.m. near the junction with Ten Pin Crescent on Middle Road in Warwick, a westbound car driven by a 59-year-old woman attempted to make a right turn into the Hayward's grocery store.
At that time the rider slammed into the back of her car before sliding across the road and colliding with an eastbound car driven by a 71-year-old man.
None of the drivers were injured. The woman's car sustained considerable rear-end damage while the other car received minor front end damage. Plus, the motorcycle was extensively damaged.
A silver jeep struck a wall twice causing it to overturn around 10.50 a.m. on Tuesday causing its driver to suffer a laceration and bruising. She was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
It occurred on Middle Road in Paget near the junction with Friths Farm Road. The jeep, driven by a 58-year-old Paget woman was heading west before losing control and striking the wall.
The jeep took on significant damage. The driver was rushed to hospital via ambulance for treatment.
