Motorist's fine mess

A man was fined more than $1,000 for failing to comply with Police in Magistrates' Court.Kimani Fubler, 33, of Court Street in Pembroke admitted to playing loud music, failing to turn off the engine of his unattended vehicle, littering and violently resisting arrest on July 13.The court heard that Fubler parked his red Volkswagen in the eastbound lane on Front Street outside Café Cairo. Traffic was heavy and people had to overtake the vehicle, which was left unattended and with loud music blaring.

A man was fined more than $1,000 for failing to comply with Police in Magistrates' Court.

Kimani Fubler, 33, of Court Street in Pembroke admitted to playing loud music, failing to turn off the engine of his unattended vehicle, littering and violently resisting arrest on July 13.

The court heard that Fubler parked his red Volkswagen in the eastbound lane on Front Street outside Café Cairo. Traffic was heavy and people had to overtake the vehicle, which was left unattended and with loud music blaring.

He was warned but refused to comply with Police, who issued a parking ticket and placed it on his steering wheel. He took the parking ticket, ripped it up and threw it on the ground, the court heard.

Fubler was fined $150 for loud music, $150 for unattended vehicle, $300 for litter and $500 for resisting arrest. All fines had to be paid by yesterday or he will face 50 days in prison for default.
