The Bermuda National Trust will tomorrow be opening to the public many of St. George's historic buildings as part of its 2009 Christmas Walkabout.

This year's event will feature music by the Victor Scott Primary Recorder Group, the Bermuda School of Music Suzuki String Group, the St. George's Preparatory Choir, along with a performance by the Jackson School of Dance.

The evening will also feature an art show, book signings and a fireworks display from Ordnance Island at 8.35 p.m.

Alan Thompson, the President of event sponsor Butterfield Bank, said: "This important community event makes it feel more like the start of the holiday season than any other. We encourage the public to come down and enjoy the festivities with us."

The event begins at 6.30 p.m.
