Police seek witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen two men trying to rob a man at an ATM in Warwick.

Several vehicles were seen driving past Lindo's in Middle Road at at 10 p.m. on Thursday.

The complainant, a 36-year-old man from Warwick, told Police he was using the ATM when he was approached by the pair.

A Police spokesman said: "One of the suspects grabbed him and demanded money, however the 36-year-old managed to make good his escape on foot.

"The suspects gave chase briefly before also making good their escape on foot, taking a shopping bag containing food items, left behind by the complainant."

The man's left hand was injured in the incident but he declined medical treatment.

One suspect is described as a five feet six inches tall black man; the other was light-skinned.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
