Premier: 'I'm paying for India trip myself'
Premier Ewart Brown will personally pay for his trip to India next month.
Earlier this week the Premier announced he would heading to the Commonwealth Games with Sports Minister Glenn Blakeney and the Permanent Secretary for Sports, Ellen Kate Horton.
It is the second trip the Premier is making to India in the last 12 months, the first cost $37,000.
Yesterday, the Premier said: "Wanda and I have reconsidered and decided that this will be a personally funded trip.
"Simply put, we will pay for the airfare, transportation and accommodations associated with the India trip.
"Despite this, I will continue to do the people's business, ensuring that Bermuda's interests are pursued and every avenue explored for the benefit of Bermudians."
He added: "Wanda has always paid for her personal transportation, a policy that deserves to be reviewed in the future."
During the trip, which takes place three weeks before the Premier steps down, the delegation will be signing a tax information exchange agreement with India and meeting business and film industry leaders.
