Princess Anne to bring Royal touch to Old Town
Britain's Princess Anne will be visiting Bermuda, specifically St. George's, this April.
HRH Princess Anne is expected to take part in a ceremony at which St. George's will be awarded the official World Heritage certificate from the United Nations Educations, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) on April 26.
A Government spokesperson said: "Following the ceremony, the Princess Royal will be escorted on a short walking tour of part of the town to view the further progress made towards the implementation of The St. George's Town Heritage Plan: Bringing History to Life.'' The Princess Royal is also expected to be a guest at an invitation-only fund-raising event hosted by The St. George's Foundation on the evening of April 25.
Monies raised will be used to fund restoration projects in St. George's, said a Government spokesperson.
The Princess Royal is expected to arrive the evening of April 25 and leave midday on April 26.
The visit is the last leg of a five-country tour for the Princess, that includes Belize, El Salvador, Honduras and the Commonwealth of Dominica from April 17 to April 26.
