Prisoner still at large

Escaped prisoner Toronto McDonald Darrell has managed to allude Police for more than a week, having escaped custody last Monday.

Darrell, 35, of Warwick was brought before Magistrates' Court, last Monday, in connection with an indictable burglary charge where it was alleged he was found asleep next to the bed of his victim.

Darrell was remanded in Police custody during those court proceedings but is reported to have simply walked out of the courtroom a short while later.

Police, at the time, issued an appeal for information on his whereabouts. A few people responded having sighted him in the Warwick and Paget areas.

But last night Police spokesperson Coleman Easton confirmed that Darrell was still at large.

Darrell is described as being a light brown male approximately 5'9'' tall, of slim build, clean shaven with a short hair cut.

Police said that Darrell is not prone to violence and urged the public to report any sightings to the Central CID office immediately on 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers hotline 1-800-623-8477.
