A homeless woman was released on $500 bail after she admitted stealing a pair of shorts from A.S. Cooper's.
Principal Crown counsel Malcolm McColm told Magistrates' Court the store's manager thought something about Amtina Tweed was suspicious.
The manager's feelings were later confirmed after seeing the 45-year-old walk into a dressing room with the shorts and exit without them. The manager alerted nearby Police who searched her and found the white shorts, valued at $10, in her purse.
Tweed told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that she was tired of living the life she was living. Mr. Warner told her that that is no excuse to steal clothing from a store. Tweed was bailed at $500 pending a pre-sentencing report
