The attack occurred at around 9.30 p.m. on Friday while he was standing on Smith's Avenue, Warwick.

Police over the weekend were also called to deal with six complaints of assault, and 12 domestic fights, none involving serious injury.

ANKLE CHAIN TAKEN AT BEACH CRM Ankle chain taken at beach A sneak thief stole a female holidaymaker's ankle chain while she was swimming at Horseshoe Bay.

The chain had two heart-shaped stones on it, and a pendant engraved with the words "I LUV NASSAU''.

Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said the woman placed the chain in the tip of her shoe before swimming on Monday afternoon.

"Somebody must have seen her do this. When she returned it was gone,'' he added.

HEROIN COST MAN $400 CTS Heroin cost man $400 Smith's man Darrell Joseph Smith was fined $400 for possession of heroin which he claimed was not his.

Smith, 44, of Town Hill, was approached by Police in Elliott Street, in Hamilton, in June.

Prosecuting Sgt. Rex Osborne said: "He appeared nervous at the Police presence. He had something in his hand which was a small `twist' containing two silver foil wraps.'' Each wrap contained a white powder which, when tested, was found to be 0.02 grams of heroin. Smith said he was holding the heroin for someone.

FAULTY GAS VALVE FIR Faulty gas valve Firemen were alerted following a gas leak outside a house in Cox's Lane, Pembroke, on Monday night.

The leak was caused by a faulty valve on a propane cylinder, said a fire service spokesman.

"We disconnected the gas supply, and the gas company came to fix the fault.

There was no need to evacuate anyone,'' he added.
