A crew member off an Italian bulk carrier was dropped off on the Island for medical attention yesterday.
The crew member from Maddalena D'Amato suffered a suspected stroke while the vessel was en route from New Orleans in Louisiana to Cartagena, Spain. They were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. A Harbour Radio spokesman said: "The ship arrived here at 12.30 p.m. (yesterday) and the pilot boat went out and evacuated the person off the ship and the ship left just before 1.30 p.m."
