Psalm Williams, of Rambling Lane, pleaded guilty to the offences in Magistrates' Court.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Williams stole a Honda livery cycle on July 28.

The next day Police stopped Williams and his passenger as they were riding on Palmetto Road in Pembroke, Sgt. Mouchette added.

When Police asked him his name, Williams told them his name was Kevin Bean.

Sgt. Mouchette said the officers noticed there was no key in the ignition which had been tempered with.

Police later discovered that the bike had been stolen and they arrested Williams and his passenger for bike theft.

But when he arrived at the Hamilton Police Station, Williams jumped out of the Police vehicle and led Police on a long foot chase, Sgt. Mouchette said.

Williams was subsequently caught and Police found out he had given them a false name.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp released ordered a social inquiry report on Williams who was released on $800 bail with a like surety.

He will return to court on February 6 for sentencing.
