The attack was the second on a taxi driver within the past week.

The latest incident involved a 40-year-old cab driver who picked up a man around 1 a.m. in Sandys Parish.

He was instructed to go to Sun Valley in Warwick.

There, the passenger asked the driver to change a $100 bill but when the driver asked him to produce the note the passenger took out a knife and attempted to stab the driver several times.

The driver managed to escape and fled from the car and called for help.

Police searched the area but the suspect had escaped.

The attack came five days after four male passengers attacked and robbed a 65-year-old taxi driver after he picked them up on Front Street.
