Teen fined for traffic offences
insurance cost a Sandys Parish teenager $350 yesterday.
Omari Esdaille, 17, of Fair Haven Lane, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to riding a motor bike without third-party insurance, without a vehicle licence, and while disqualified from driving by age.
Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Police stopped Esdaille on July 20 on Fair Haven Lane for a routine check.
They noticed the bike did not have the current Transport Control Department sticker and found that Esdaille was too young to be riding a motorbike.
Sgt. Mouchette said Esdaille told Police he had borrowed the bike and did not know it was not licensed.
Magistrate Edward King ordered Esdaille to pay $200 for driving underage, $100 for not having third-party insurance, and $50 for not having a vehicle licence.
