Teenagers charged with burglary
Three teenagers charged with entering into a Southampton home and stealing a large quantity of cash and credit cards were denied bail yesterday in Magistrates' Court.
Jaymi Edwards, 16, Joshua Boorman, 17, and LoMicko Durrant, 19, were charged with entering into a home on Lighthouse Road in Southampton and stealing $2,500 in cash, a Sony PlayStation 3 and credit cards on August 4.
Edwards and Boorman, both of Middle Road in Southampton, pleaded guilty, but Durrant, of Beacon Hill in Sandys, denied the charge.
Boorman also pleaded guilty to eight counts of dishonesty, which involved using an instrument to make false credit card slips and forging signatures at the Pro Shop, Tuff Shoes, Dub City Records and Shannon's on August 4.
He was jointly charged with Durrant for four counts of dishonestly obtaining goods, which included clothing, sneakers and costume jewellery on the same date, the court heard.
Boorman, represented by lawyer Llewelyn Peniston, confessed to all 12 offences in Magistrates' Court, however Durrant, represented by lawyer Darrell Clarke, denied the four additional charges facing him.
Edwards, facing only one charge, was unrepresented in court. He said: "I just want to apologise to everyone for wasting your time — sorry for what I did."
All three teenagers were known to the courts and refused bail — Edwards was sent to the Co-ed facility, while Boorman and Durrant were sent to Westgate.
Magistrate Archibald Warner ordered a social inquiry report for Boorman and that the three young men to appear back in court on September 23
