Timeline: More than 100 firearm incidents in 2010
In the first 188 days of 2010, there have been reports made to Police of 110 separate firearm incidents. Here are some of the shootings which have made the news:
• The mother of a West End gang member says she was shot at on New Year's Day in Somerset.
l Perry Puckerin, 34, is shot dead at Hamilton Parish Workman's Club on January 3.
l A 21-year-old man is shot in the leg on Park Lane near the junction of St. John's Road in Pembroke on January 10.
• A 24-year-old Sandys man is shot in the right hand in the Scotts Hill area of Somerset, near St. Joseph's Church, on February 3.
• Footballer Nathan Darrell, 23, is gunned down yards from his family home in Kitchener Close, Sandys, on February 13, suffering multiple wounds.
• David Godwin, 28, is shot three times on St. Monica's Road in front of Art-Mel's on February 21.
• A 16-year-old boy from Warwick is shot in the upper body on March 13 during a party at Bermuda College. He goes to hospital and is discharged the same day.
l James Lawes, 26, dies on March 20 after being shot the previous night. Maurice Martin and Robin Stovell were also shot as the three congregated outside Place's Place on Dundonald Street.
• Jakai Harford, 27, is shot and injured on Mission Lane, Pembroke on March 27.
l Kimwandae Walker, 35, is murdered on Good Friday (April 2). The father-of-two is fatally shot while flying kites with his children at Victor Scott Primary School in Pembroke.
l Shawn Williams, 18, is shot at the Royal Artillery Association Club in St. George's on April 3.
• Antoine Tuzo, 39, and 17-year-old Michéla Outerbridge are shot on St. John's Road, in Pembroke, outside Western Stars Community Club on Easter Sunday (April 4).
l George Lynch, 40, is murdered in Midland Heights Crescent, Hamilton Parish, on May 5.
• Gunfire is exchanged between Parkside and 42nd Street on St. Monica's Road, Pembroke, on May 22 — the first anniversary of the murder of Kenwandee Robinson.
l Dekimo Martin, 24, is murdered on May 28 in Peacock Crescent, Sandys.
l Frederick Maybury, a 34-year-old plumber, is shot dead at Woody's Sports Bar in Sandys on June 14.
• A 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man are taken to hospital on June 16 after a shooting in Friswell's Hill, Pembroke.
• A 44-year-old Sandys man narrowly escapes being shot after two men on a motorcycle speed past him firing shots on Store Lane, Somerset, on June 30. The victim suffers superficial injuries sustained by evasive action.
l Three men break into a home on Wellington Point Lane, St. George's, brandishing a gun and demanding money on July 1.
• Gunshots are heard at about 9.40 p.m. on July 6 in the White Hill and George's Bay Road area of Sandys. Police conduct a search and confirm it was a firearm incident. No one is hurt.
