Police seized knives and incendiary devices from a house in St. Monica's Road yesterday.Officers swarmed the property, at the corner of St. Monica's Road also known as 42nd Street, and Glebe Road, Pembroke, looking for weapons.Armed officers and the K-9 Unit joined a team from the Public Protection Department, in what Police described as a "proactive policing" operation. A metal detector was also used in a search of the surrounding property.

Police seized knives and incendiary devices from a house in St. Monica's Road yesterday.

Officers swarmed the property, at the corner of St. Monica's Road also known as 42nd Street, and Glebe Road, Pembroke, looking for weapons.

Armed officers and the K-9 Unit joined a team from the Public Protection Department, in what Police described as a "proactive policing" operation. A metal detector was also used in a search of the surrounding property.

Police executed a search warrant at the house between 3.45 p.m. and 5.30 p.m..

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: "Based on information received, officers from the Public Protection Department executed a search warrant at a residence where a quantity of controlled drugs and a cache of weapons was seized, including bladed weapons and incendiary devices, however no firearms were recovered.

"Several arrests were also made on suspicion of firearm and/or drug offences. Inquiries are ongoing."

The spokesman could not provide any further information last night on the weapons and incendiary devices recovered.
