Dorothy Aubrey, 60, of Radnor Road pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to the offence which took place on February 27.
Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor explained that around 10.20 p.m. Police officers were patrolling North Shore Road in Devonshire when they saw a car swerving and braking for no apparent reason.
The officers stopped the car and arrested Aubrey on suspicion of drunk driving.
She was taken to Hamilton Police Station where breath samples revealed her to have at least 177 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood -- the legal limit is 80 milligrammes of alcohol.
Magistrate Arthur Hodgson fined Aubrey $450 and revoked her license for the next 12 months.
