Woman reports sexual assault
during the Christmas holiday.
Detectives arrested a 33-year-old Hamilton Parish man after a 33-year-old St.
George's woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted on Christmas Eve around 4 a.m.
It appears the woman was threatened with a knife before the assault took place, Police said.
In a separate incident, a 40-year-old Southampton man turned himself into Police yesterday in connection with a fight on Stadium Lane in Warwick, where another man was struck on the head with a metal pipe requiring eight stitches.
The victim, 31, also lives in Southampton. He was taken to hospital on Boxing day with two wounds on his head.
On Saturday a 40-year-old Hamilton Parish man was stabbed around 2 a.m. in the Spinning Wheel Complex on Court Street.
The man, who was cut on his leg, was taken to hospital and later released.
Detectives are investigating the incident which is alleged to have occurred while the victim was involved in an argument with another man.
Police said there were two more serious assaults during this Christmas period (December 24-December 27) compared to the same period last year when only one was reported.
STOLEN TRUCK RECOVERED CRM Stolen truck recovered A truck left unattended for five minutes on Gorham Road, Pembroke was removed around 10.55 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
But it was recovered on Christmas Day after Police noticed a 30-year-old Sandys Parish man driving the vehicle along Cochrane Road, in Sandys.
He was arrested for removing the truck as well as for impaired driving and will appear in Magistrates' Court soon.
A Sandys Parish resident awoke yesterday morning to find a man in his bedroom.
When he screamed the man fled and a check revealed that nothing was taken.
The intruder was described as a dark browned skinned man, approximately six feet tall of slim build between 25-35 years old.
Police also said that the recent spate of cycle thefts continued over the Christmas holiday, with 25 stolen compared to ten last year.
Break-ins were also up with 22 reported compared to 14 in 1993.
But Road accidents decreased with 19 compared to 26 in 1993 while minor assaults were equal to last year at nine.
