Yacht's crew to arrive tomorrow

The 47-foot yacht Minnela broke its rear mast after capsizing several times in gale force winds on Monday.
All three American crew members and one dog were unharmed and are still on board. The vessel, travelling at about 7.5 knots using its own engine, is due to arrive today.
The yacht was on its way to the US Virgin Islands from New York when it capsized at about 1.30 p.m. on Monday.
CANNONBALL CEREMONY MUS Cannonball ceremony Pomp and circumstance will besiege the Royal Naval Dockyard tonight when a 400-year-old artifact will be paraded around by Sea Cadets.
The annual cannonball ceremony, when the Bermuda Maritime Museum pays the rent for its Keep Yard to the Bermuda National Trust, promises plenty of pageantry.
Dignitaries, including Premier Pamela Gordon, will take part in the ceremony which features the cannonball -- retrieved from the wreck of the Sea Venture .
Museum chairman Paul Leseur will hand the cannonball to National Trust president Hugh Davidson who will in turn present it to West End Development Corporation chairman Scott Hunter.
Sea Cadets will then march the cannonball through Dockyard to the Clocktower Centre where they will hand it over to Ms Gordon.
The Bermuda Regiment -- along with the Somerset Brigade Band and the Bermuda Pipe Band -- will then march in for the final staging of the Beat Retreat ceremony at Dockyard for this season. Former Governor Sir Edwin Leather will take the salute at the conclusion.
Tonight's festivities are open to the public and will get underway at 8 p.m.
WOMAN HURT IN CRASH AC Woman hurt in crash A 30-year-old Sandys woman received serious head injuries following a car crash on Sunday afternoon.
The woman was driving a Kia Pride car on Somerset Road when it was in collision with a light van at about 3.p.m.
The woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital but released after treatment. The van driver, a 60-year-old man, is not thought to have been injured.
Police are now investigating the cause of the crash.
LABOURER FINED CTS Labourer fined A Pembroke labourer was fined $250 after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis.
Larance Durham, 29, of Orchard Grove, was stopped by Police on June 30 after they noticed that the rear light on his bike was faulty.
But while they questioned him one of the officers noticed Durham was trying to conceal a small yellow envelope.
In court yesterday. prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor explained that when the package was analysed it was found to contain 0.94 grammes of cannabis.
And when asked by officers what the package was Durham simply said: "This is marijuana''.
LIBRARY TO RE-OPEN LIB Library to re-open The Bermuda National Library will open on November 12, 1997 after extensive renovations.
And persons currently in possession of library books -- there are some 13,000 still in the hands of borrowers -- are asked to return them on Monday October 27, 1997.
Once open, the public should use the library's main entrance on the north side of the building.
WHITNEY BURGLED CRM ED Whitney burgled Police are investigating a break-in at the Whitney Institute on Middle Road, Smith's Parish, at the weekend.
The thieves stole an IBM computer and Epsom printer after breaking into one of the classrooms on Sunday night.
