48 road collisions reported

There was a total of 48 reported collisions and 12 stolen vehicles over the week.Police report that there were 21 injury collisions and 27 damage only collisions in the week from Monday, September 14 to Monday, September 21. Six people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, and 12 auxiliary cycles were taken without their owner's consent over the past week including one from the following parishes: Smith's, Devonshire, Warwick Southampton and Sandys. The remaining seven vehicles were taken from Pembroke.

A Police spokesman said: "The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the Island's roads. Additionally, we urge those travelling in cars to use their seat belts at all times and make sure any children travelling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained.

"Those travelling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane."
