Commuters are likely to experience traffic delays on the way into Hamilton over the coming days.

Spurling Hill is to be closed to vehicles travelling into the city to allow for crane activity at Seon Place starting at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

Beginning Friday, Church Street opposite City Hall is to be reduced to one-lane traffic to accommodate the use of a crane at Washington Mall.

The single lane will remain in place until 6.30 a.m. Saturday.

Additional disruptions are expected because of a cycle race planned for Sunday between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Said a spokesperson: “The route will take racers along Front Street, Burnaby Hill, Reid Street, Queen Street, Church Street and Par-la-Ville Road.

“The City of Hamilton apologises for any inconvenience caused and urges all motorists to use extreme caution during these traffic disruptions.”
