A teenager was today in intensive care after a crash between a bike and a car.

A Police spokesman said: “At 9.55 p.m. on Sunday, Police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road, in Warwick, near the junction with Morgan Road involving a car and an auxiliary cycle.

“It appears that both the car and the auxiliary cycle were traveling east on Middle Road, with the car in front of the auxiliary cycle. The vehicles collided as the car attempted to turn into Lindo's Family Foods.”

The bike rider, a 17-year-old Southampton man, was badly injured and taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where this morning he was in the intensive care unit. The driver of the car, a 40-year-old Sandys man, was not injured.
