Breaking News: Teenager stabbed
A teenager is in hospital with “serious stab wounds”after a fight with a 17-year-old this afternoon.
Police have reported a 17-year-old boy from Sandys is being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), while another 17-year-old from St. George’s has been arrested.
The altercation took place around 12 p.m. today near Traditions Restaurant on Middle Road in Sandys.
Details remain unclear however a Police spokesperson said the incident is believed to have occurred in the bus lay-by across the street from the restaurant.
“As a result, a 17-year-old Sandys parish man sustained serious stab wounds to his upper body,”the spokesperson said. “He was apparently taken to Port Royal Fire Station by a member of the public where he was treated by EMTs before being rushed to KEMH via ambulance.
“He is currently in critical but stable condition. A 17-year- old St. George’s man has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to or anyone with any information, particularly the individual who took the victim to Port Royal Fire Station, to contact the Western Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
