Breaking News: Two guilty of killing Aquil Richardson

Two men have been jailed for life this afternoon for shooting Aquil Richardson dead on Boxing Day 2007.

Antoine Anderson and Philip Bradshaw were found guilty by the unanimous verdict of a Supreme Court jury after almost six hours of deliberation.

The verdict was greeted with relief by the victim’s mother, Shahidah Abdur-Rahim, who said: “Justice has been served.” The pair were sped off to Westgate to begin at least 15 years behind bars.

The jury had heard during the month-long trial how Bradshaw, a Jamaican national, shot the victim dead at point blank range in Camp Hill, Southampton. Anderson provided the transprt on a motorbike.

The two men were also convicted of wounding Lavar Smith in the same incident.
