Man admits having cannabis

A 26-year-old man admitted possessing cannabis when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.The court heard from Crown counsel Robert Welling that on May 25, Rashid Trott was seen smoking by Police on Tribe Road No. 6, Southampton, behind Bermuda Institute.When Trott noticed Police he started to run. Police caught him and when they searched him, they found a small transparent twist containing a plant-like material.
A 26-year-old man admitted possessing cannabis when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The court heard from Crown counsel Robert Welling that on May 25, Rashid Trott was seen smoking by Police on Tribe Road No. 6, Southampton, behind Bermuda Institute.
When Trott noticed Police he started to run. Police caught him and when they searched him, they found a small transparent twist containing a plant-like material.
He was arrested and taken to Somerset Police Station. The substance was analysed and found to be 0.79 grams of cannabis.
As Trott pleaded guilty and it was his first offence, Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo gave him a 12-month conditional discharge.
