Man is fined $300 for swearing at Premier
A Devonshire man who yelled out profanities to the Premier during a press conference and escaped by a motorcycle has been fined $300 when he appeared in Magistrates' Court.
Prinston Alexander Robinson, 42, of Aerial View Road, yesterday pleaded guilty to using offensive words in a public place.
On May 7 at 1.45 p.m., plain clothed Police officers were on duty guarding Premier Ewart Brown at a press conference held at the Rubber Tree, next to Warwick Post Office.
Robinson rode down Khyber Pass on his motorcycle and yelled out: "Premier, stop spending our money. Now f**k off."
The 42-year old rode off but was arrested on May 16 after the same officers saw him on Elliot Street and remembered the offence.
Asked by Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo if he had anything to say, Robinson said: "At the time I was frustrated. I'm not too pleased with the way he's spending our money and giving away our land. I do apologise."
Mr. Tokunbo replied: "Now you just have given him $300 more to spend however he sees fit." He handed Robinson a $300 fine to be paid immediately.
