Sandwich boards on sidewalks are illegal, the Corporation of Hamilton reminded business owners yesterday.
The Corporation issued a reminder to retailers and restaurateurs to not place the boards on sidewalks.
Secretary Edward Benevides said: "As a matter of public safety, I am reminding retail and restaurant owners in the city, they should not place sandwich boards on city property, for example sidewalks or streets.
"If a business is using a sandwich board it must clearly be on the business owner's property. All sandwich boards found on city property will be removed."
