PartnerRe 5K raises $37,000
More than 800 women and girls helped raise more than $37,000 for the Family Centre through a 5,000-metre run and walk last month.
The annual event, sponsored by PartnerRe, has now generated more than $200,000 since it began in 1998, with cash going to female causes such as breast cancer and physical abuse over the years.
Family Centre director Peter Carey said: "The support that the PartnerRe 5K offered this year has made a huge difference in our ability to help more children and families who are struggling. We are very grateful to PartnerRe, all of the walkers, the event coordinators and volunteers."
Organisers said they would like to thank supporters, volunteers, participants and sponsors, while all women and girls are invited to take part next October.
