Police seek white bike following latest shooting
Police are investigating a shooting on Friswell's Road that left two men injured on Monday are seeking information about a white-coloured motorbike and its rider who were seen in the area at the time.
It is believed that the two victims, both 22-year-olds, were riding another motorcycle at around 5.30 p.m. when they were shot. Neither's injuries are considered life threatening.
Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit are particularly interested in speaking to anyone that may have observed a white SYM scooter motorcycle being ridden by one man in the vicinity immediately prior to the shooting.
Police said that a number of witnesses have already been seen, but they still need to speak with persons that may have seen or know anything about the incident.
Government MP and area resident Ashfield DeVent said the shooting shook the community, which had just suffered through Hurricane Igor.
"The neighbourhood is always shocked when this happens. I think they are more shocked that his happened so soon after we survived Igor without serious injury," he said.
"I am ashamed that there are those in the community who continue to exercise this type of behaviour, and again, I ask anyone with information to inform the Police so that they can make sure the person or persons responsible can be arrested before they can hurt anyone else."
• Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8106, alternatively an anonymous call can be made to the confidential and independent Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline 800-8477 (TIPS).
