Premier Brown hosts more than 100 young Bermudians at UK Annual Student Dinner
More than 125 Bermudians studying in the United Kingdom were told to "follow their passions" and be prepared to work in Bermuda by Premier Dr. Ewart Brown on Saturday.
Speaking at the Annual Student Dinner during brief remarks in front of the students and executives from the Bank of Butterfield and the Human Resources Dept of Government, Dr. Brown described the Island's participation at meetings in the British Overseas Consultative Council and at the Climate Change conference in Copenhagen.
Dr. Brown also faced a range of questions from the students for almost two hours, including his stand on the inclusion of sexual orientation in the Human Rights Act, operational control of the Police Service, and Government's plans to encourage Bermudians to enter the trades.
In recent years, the Premier has hosted several dinners for Bermuda students abroad: in Atlanta, Huntsville (Alabama), and Washington DC in the U.S.; in Halifax (Canada); and London (UK).
