Stabbing suspect turns himself in
A 34-year-old Devonshire man has been arrested and detained in connection with the stabbing of a 38-year-old Pembroke woman.
The victim was said yesterday to be in a stable condition at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and had been moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a general ward.
She had been admitted to hospital on Tuesday afer Police attended the report of a serious assault outside Marsh Folly Road, Pembroke home at 2.10 p.m.
The Pembroke woman - who was originally said by the Police to be 45 years old rather than the correct 38 - had stated she was stabbed by a man she knew and was then rushed to KEMH via ambulance.
On Tuesday evening, the 34-year-old Devonshire man turned himself in at the Hamilton Police Station where he was arrested and detained in connection with the stabbing. Inquiries are ongoing.
