Cabinet Secretary Marc Telemaque became a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order in recognition of his successful handling of the Royal Visit.

Mr. Telemaque was presented with the award personally by the Queen during her three-day stay on the Island at the end of the month.

Minister without Portfolio Zane DeSilva revealed the news by offering his congratulations to the Cabinet Secretary during yesterday's House of Assembly session.

According to Mr. DeSilva, the honour was in recognition of Mr. Telemaque's professionalism and efficiency during the Royal Visit.

Mr. Telemaque declined to comment at length, but told The Royal Gazette: "It was humbling and I am most grateful to have received it."
