A 25-year-old was charged with conspiracy to import almost a kilogram of cannabis to the Island.
Lionel Thomas was charged yesterday with conspiring to import drugs to Bermuda sometime before November 13, 2008. Because the charges are indictable, he was not asked to enter a plea.
Thomas is believed to have plotted to import 926 grams of cannabis, worth as much as $92,600, into the Island.
A second person is expected to be brought before the court in connection with the charges.
Thomas, represented in Magistrates' Court by lawyer Mark Pettingill, was released on $25,000 bail with a surety of the same amount.
He is due to return to court for mention on November 12.
