Old van, toys and other donations bring delight to autism group
A charity that provides therapy and education to children with autism has received an outpouring of support from the business community.Tomorrow’s Voices was set up in 2007 to provide early intervention support for children aged two to 12.Board chairman Erica Smith said donations had come in from groups including Bermuda Cancer and Health, which donated a van; children’s toy and clothing store Daisy & Mac gave an “incredible” ball pit/gym last week.Other donations have come from Digicel and there is a prospective grant from the Ross “Blackie” Talbot charity golf tournament in April.Ms Smith said: “Tomorrow’s Voices has been fortunate in getting various great donations from organisations and funders. We were recently donated cell phones and service from Digicel which was profiled last week in the media.“We have also been fortunate to be one of the charities who were selected for the Ross “Blackie” Talbot grant so we are busy participating in that event with the golf tournament and raffle draw in April.”She said she was just as excited about Bermuda Cancer and Health’s donation of its old van.“We are so excited to be receiving this donation as this van will help us tremendously with providing additional services to our clients, our parents, and the public,” she said. For more information visit www.tomorrowsvoices.bm or call 297-4342.
