Parking charges in Hamilton are to increase from March 7, the City of Hamilton announced this morning.Rates in all City parking lots and on the street are affected and on the street parking will now be $2 an hour a $0.25 increase. Car parks will increase by 50 cents an hour and the all day parking lots will increase by $2 per day.Chief Operations Officer and Secretary for the City of Hamilton, Ed Benevides said: “At the end of last year we announced rate changes for trucks and vans. We also indicated that the parking rates for cars would also increase at the beginning of this year.“We encourage the general public to purchase the Easy Pay parking meters. Once the current supply of parking voucher booklets is depleted we will not order new stock.
