Senator Atherden given permission to add to condo development in Warwick
Opposition Senate leader Jeanne Atherden has received Planning permission to add two condos to an eight-unit development she owns with her husband Maxim in Warwick.Mrs Atherden said they built Manderley Mews after deciding to develop “a little community in a quiet place with easy access to Riddell’s Bay Golf Course”.The first eight homes were completed and occupied three years ago.The Atherdens now hope to add an extra two three-bedroom condos within a two-storey detached house.Mrs Atherden said: “We felt it was a good time to go ahead with the additional units. It’s a soft market at the moment and this is our way to stimulate the economy. The constant jobs put out by small developers can contribute as much as the big developers do.”Under a scheme approved by Planning in 2004, a further twelve condos can also be built on the property’s undeveloped western side. However, Mrs Atherden said, that phase of the project is “not being contemplated right now”.
