Queen Victoria passengers give Bermuda high marks

Passengers on the Queen Victoria, which visited the Island recently, rated Bermuda as their top destination, according to a press release issued today.The ship visited Bermuda on April 2, leaving the same day, having originated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. On her journey she also called at Port Canaveral, Florida, Charleston, South Carolina, Ponta Delgada, Azores, Lisbon, Portugal, Cork, Ireland, Paris/Normandy (Le Havre), France and terminating in Southampton, England.According to the Ministry of Transport press released: “In a survey passengers ranked Bermuda as the top scoring port of call with a score of 91.3. The nearest rival achieved 88.2.“Ratings derived from a score of 67.2 percent excellent, 30.9 percent good and 1.9 percent fair. Bermuda was the only port of call to have a score of zero percent for poor.“This was the first ever visit of the Queen Victoria to Bermuda and she will return in December.”Transport Minister Terry Lister said: “This is indeed good news. I’m very pleased that our efforts have not gone unnoticed. The staff of the Ministry of Transport are working hard to ensure this cruise season is a success and I would like to thank them for their efforts.”
