Women accused of stealing from elderly relative
Two women were charged in Magistrates’ Court today with stealing almost half a million dollars in cash and property from an elderly relative.Audra-Ann Bean, 43, and Lorraine Smith Bean, 45, both of Warwick, face multiple charges of stealing from 86-year-old Lenice Tucker between August and October last year. They are both additionally charged with exploiting the senior citizen.The Crown alleges that cash and property valued around $494,000 was stolen from the victim.Because the charges must be heard in the Supreme Court, neither defendant was required to enter a plea.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the women on $10,000 bail, under the condition that they do not interfere with the complainant.They are expected to return to Magistrates’ Court on May 5 for the matter to be mentioned.
