Woman cleared of assaulting Governor’s son

A 24-year-old woman accused of assaulting Governor Sir Richard Gozney’s son has been cleared of the charges in Magistrates’ Court.Joan Juliana D’Estelle Roe, of Sandys, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting Alexander Gozney in Pembroke during the early hours of December 29.Ms D’Estelle Roe was due to stand trial today, but prosecutor Kristy-Ann Kiellor said the Crown offered no evidence.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner told Ms D’Estelle Roe she was free to leave the court.
