Come and help clean up the Island
Keep Bermuda Beautiful is calling for volunteers and community groups to join in its annual Island-wide spring cleaning on Saturday.Volunteers have committed 10,500 hours to collect almost 100 tons of litter, recyclables and other waste items from the Islands roadsides, beaches and railway trails over the past three years.Among the areas that the KBB hope to target this year are Whale Bone Bay, Great Bay Road, Coney Island Road, Spittal Pond and Cockburn Road. The group is asking residents to choose and register a location and pair with colleagues, friends and family for the clean-up. Alternatively, KBB can assign an area.Participants are asked to contact KBB after the clean-up to report the amount and location of collected trash, recyclables and bulky waste items. The charity will then organise for the garbage to be collected.KBB can be contacted through their Facebook page or by calling 295-5142 or 799-5142.Useful website: www.kbb.bm.
