Education Minister Dame Jennifer Smith yesterday unveiled two murals created by students, and donated to arts collective the Chewstick Foundation.About 40 middle school students worked with artists Cherie Richardson and LaVerne Richardson, at the April 1 Middle School Summit held in Bermuda College and Warwick Camp, to create the murals now on display at the Chewstick Neo Griot Lounge.“It is no coincidence that the Ministry chose to donate these murals to the Chewstick Foundation,” Dame Jennifer said.“We wanted to embrace and encourage Chewstick’s great grass roots work to transform North Hamilton.“They have embarked on a bold mission to unify this community by encouraging a wider awareness, appreciation and acceptance of each other as individuals.”
